B3081 closed after traffic collision in Sixpenny Handley

The B3081 between Sixpenny Handley roundabout and Wimborne Saint Giles is closed after a serious traffic collision on Saturday evening.

The road is expected to be closed until the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward after the incident which happened at around 6pm on Saturday 1 February 2020 on the B3081 about 300m south of the Sixpenny Handley roundabout.

A red VW Up BlueMotion, a black Audi A3 and a green Isuzu Pick-up were involved.

The female VW driver was taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male passenger sustained serious injuries.

The occupants of the Audi, one adult and two children, had minor injuries and the male driver of the Isuzu was seriously injured.

Police Sergeant Sarah Jones, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out a detailed investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision and any motorists who have relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

“I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during the road closure. This is necessary to allow emergency services to safely deal with the incident and allow for a thorough examination of the scene.”
