The pubs and playgrounds reopened in Verwood

The arrival of July the 4th meant a number of public services are now open in Verwood following changes to Government guidelines.

More shops, restaurants, pubs and playgrounds welcomed customers for the first time in almost four months.

The Albion and Swans are now open following COVID secure guidelines, although the Monmouth Ash remains closed for the next two weeks.

Playgrounds operated by Verwood Town Council are also open, including the park on Ringwood Road, opposite Tesco Express. The main play area at Potterne Park is scheduled to reopen tomorrow, Monday 6th July.

Places to eat including the Hollow Cafe, Spice of India, Al Trullo and Renoulfs are now open, although some require booking in advance.

Hairdressers AJ’s Barbers, Sara’s Barber Shop and Champion Barbers are also open but booking in advance is essential.

In addition, Moors Valley has reopened its railway running return journeys only from Lakeside Station (Kingsmere station/shop remains closed) and tickets, ice cream and cold drinks can be purchased from the kiosk at Lakeside.

Moors Valley said whilst the play areas are not open yet, they will be once they are confident they can do it in line with the Government guidance.
