The McColls convenience store on Pinehurst Road in West Moors is changing to a Morrisons Daily.
Work is underway at the premises to carry out the refit, and the new store is scheduled to open on October 28th 2021.
It’s part of a national arrangement between McColls and Morrisons to rebrand 350 local stores by the end of 2022.
The deal also means Morrisons will supply the rest of McColl’s estates of 1,200 stores with its own label Safeway brand until the year 2027.
Just last week, McColls hit its 100th Morrisons Daily milestone with a store in Ellesmere Port.
McColls Chief executive Jonathan Miller said: “We are delighted with the performance of our Morrisons Daily conversions and we now have a blueprint for this model that offers a strong return on investment.”
He added: “The Morrisons Daily format allows us to grow customer spend, frequency and loyalty by growing the basket size, offering customers access to great value fresh food at close to supermarket prices, on their doorstep, under the Morrisons brand, which is synonymous with fresh food.
“The rollout of Morrisons Daily stores ties in with the Group’s strategic focus on the larger convenience store format, to drive incremental sales in grocery, fresh food and alcohol, providing opportunities for sales mix improvement.”
Meanwhile, Morrisons in Verwood is getting a refit with new features and items changing locations.
