Pop-up beach arrives at Verwood House Care Home

The nice weather has inspired a pop-up beach at a Verwood care home, complete with buckets and spades, and mocktails.

Residents at Verwood House Care Home in Ringwood Road are enjoying the chance to sit back and relax in colourful deckchairs and feel the soft sand between their toes without even having to step outside their garden.

Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coach Emilia Turner said residents were delighted when they saw that a touch of the seaside had ended up on their doorstep. And it created some great seaside memories.

She said: “It’s not always easy to travel and sometimes it is certainly hard to stay cool. So, we have made a special effort here, to turn this heatwave into something that can be enjoyed thanks to a lot of water, cool sand not to mention some hydrating mocktails!”

As the sun is set to stay, the home has a packed summer of activity for residents to enjoy including virtual cruises, musical performances as well as tropical food and drink menus on offer.

Verwood House Care Home is part of the Hamberley Care Homes Group which operates care homes in the UK.
