
The A31 between West Moors and Ferndown was closed for three hours on Thursday night following a vehicle fire.
Two cars collided on the westbound carriageway around 10.30pm and the road was closed till around 2am.
Emergency services including Dorset Police and the Ambulance service were in attendance
A local diversion was set up whilst the road was closed.
The Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service reported: “Firefighters extinguished the fire using hose reel jets and both vehicles were made safe by disconnecting the batteries.
“A small quantity of engine oil was absorbed from the highway using Environment Agency pads, which are carried on fire engines. The westbound carriageway was closed and the incident was left with the Police.”
The #A31 is closed in both directions between the #A348 and #B3072 near #Ferndown due to a collision.
