Hays Travel has closed its branch in Verwood this week announcing the move publicly on social media.

A post on social media on Tuesday said: We would like to update all our customers to advise that the Verwood branch has now closed with immediate effect.

“Please contact our FERNDOWN branch on 01202 891616 or ferndown@hays-travel.co.uk regarding your bookings. Thank you to all our customers.”

Hays Travel, one of the largest independent travel agency groups, has been operating in Verwood since 2015 after buying Bath Travel Group in 2013. It has its headquarters in Sunderland and operates over 500 shops all over the country.

In 2019 it purchased all stores of Thomas Cook Group in the United Kingdom, which were all assumed to be closed due to the travel agency entering liquidation.

Earlier this year Hays announced it was closing 89 shops, mostly former Thomas Cook outlets.
