The Verwood Hub hosted 19 teams in the latest charity quiz this week raising £800 for Mencap.

Money was made up of the entrance fee, donations on the night and a charity raffle.

Prizes were donated by local businesses including Aroma Cafes, Champion Barbers, Costa Coffee, J P Morgan, Morrisons Plc, Olive & Oak Wine Bar and The Verwood Hub.

Sarah Griffiths, who organised the quiz told VerwoodToday: “MenCap is a charity we as a family support. My nephew has Kabuki Syndrome and MenCap is an organisation that helps people like him to live a more independent and fulfilled life.

“My niece ran in the London Marathon last weekend and we will be adding tonight’s funds to her overall total.

“Another quiz night will be held again in the future, and anyone is welcome to attend and join in the fun.”
