Construction work starts on new Happy Days Nursery site in Verwood

Work has started to construct a single storey detached building to use as a children’s nursery with parking, bin and cycle storage in Verwood.

Happy Days Nursery received planning permission in summer 2021 to build the new unit at the top of Margards Lane, at the junction with Church Hill.

The planning application received 30 objections, mostly from local residents, but was approved subject to conditions including no outdoor play between 10am and 11am, 1.30pm till 2.30pm and 4pm till 5pm with no more than 20 children in total outside of the building during outdoor playtimes.

However, these conditions were appealed in May 2022 and removed from the planning permission.

The Highways Authority had no objections to the extra traffic expected by the Nursery.

Once open, the centre will only be allowed to operate between the hours of 7am and 7pm to protect the amenity of the locality.

Happy Days operates in 18 locations across the south, including Poole and Salisbury.

VerwoodToday has contacted Happy Days Nursery for more details about their new location but no response has been received at the time of publication.
