Residents around Ebblake are being advised to keep their windows and doors closed after a foul smell was reported on Saturday afternoon.

The Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the industrial estate to investigate, working with Wessex Water.

But now the case has been handed over to the Environmental Agency to work out the cause of the stink.

The incident was first reported at 3.30pm and is ongoing.

DWFRS tweeted: “Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Services are aware of a foul smell at Ebblake Industrial estate in Verwood.

Fire crews are working with Wessex Water to ascertain the cause. Please can local residents keep windows and doors closed whilst this is being investigated.”
