A planning application has been submitted to create a hand car wash and valet facility in the car park at Morrisons Supermarket in Verwood.

The service, proposed for its store on Chiltern Drive, will take nine car parking spaces next to the current recycling facility to the left of the main entrance.

The open-air wash bay will have a lightweight canopy secured to a metal frame which will be anchored into the existing car park surface, offering a “wash whilst you shop” service.

The operational times for the proposed car wash would be between 8am till 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am till 4pm on Sunday and bank holidays.

The planning document says no local flooding or detrimental conditions are envisaged and there are no direct risks from flooding, despite the Morrisons Car Park regularly suffering from large amounts of rainwater.

A baseline noise survey and assessment has been undertaken showing the typical background noise level calculated at 44dB, showing a low impact.
