Champion Barbers in Verwood has been the target of another attack after an occupant of a moving car fired an object at the shop window.

The incident happened around 3pm on Wednesday afternoon, which resulted in a damaged window and glass pieces over the floor inside the property.

It’s the second time the barbers has been attacked in this way, with a similar incident reported last year.

A spokesperson for Champion Barbers on Ringwood Road told VerwoodToday.co.uk: “With it being the last week of the summer holidays, the shop was full of parents and kids.

“A grey Suzuki Grand Vitara drove past our shop with males in black hoodies shooting a small object that almost made a bullet hole in our window splattering pieces of glass all over the shop floor.”

The incident, along with two other similar incidents on car windows, has been reported to Dorset Police.

UPDATE: Dorset Police is now appealing for witnesses.

Police Constable Chandler Organ, of East Dorset police, said: “The individuals involved in these incidents have put the public at significant risk of harm with their actions.

“We are determined to identify those responsible so we can take robust action against them.

“We are conducting a number of enquiries and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed these incidents or captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
