The Verwood Community Support Group is organising collections of items to be sent to Ukraine.

Currently, local drop-off points have not been confirmed but organisers are asking for first aid kits, new baby items, milk, baby food, nappies, dummies, wipes, nappy sacks and more.

They have been inundated with clothes, pillows and do not require books or toys at this stage.

“Please spend the next few days collecting and we will update this post with a drop of time and place at the weekend…” says a message on the Facebook Group.

Transport carrying donations will leave Bournemouth later this week.

Castlepoint in Bournemouth is allowing the old Argos warehouse to act as a drop point and collection area, with sorting now taking place.
