Verwood Concert Brass is holding a 12-hour “Blowathon” from 8am to 8pm on Sunday 15th May.

The organisation needs to generate £250,000 to rescue its band hall from subsidence and this event is part of its fundraising efforts.

There will be many different band groups to have continuous playing throughout the day although many players are involved in multiple groups.

A post on social media says: “Please take a look at the poster which contains all the details and we really hope you can come along at some time during the day to enjoy some fabulous music and give encouragement to all the players.

“Please bring your own chairs. If the weather is OK the VCB Tea Tent will be open selling drinks and homemade cakes during the main Verwood Community Band “Brass on the Grass” event.”
