The body of a man in his 70s has been found at an address in Verwood.
Emergency services were called to Burn Close just off Brook Drive near Woodlinken Drive just before midnight on Monday after concern was raised regarding the welfare of a man there.
A cordon remains in place on Tuesday afternoon following the descovery.
A statement from Dorset Police reads: “Dorset Police received a report at 11.42pm on Monday 27 November 2023 raising concern for the welfare of a man at an address in Burn Close in Verwood.
“Officers attended with the ambulance service and very sadly, the man – aged in his 70s – was located deceased. His family has been informed and the coroner has been notified.
“An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
“A cordon is in place at the address and there will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are carried out.”
Following a post-portem examination and enquiries by detectives, it has been established that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Enquiries will continue on behalf of HM Coroner.
