Party planned at The Hub as the Tour of Britain passes Verwood

The Hub will open its doors with live music this Saturday to celebrate the Tour of Britain riding through Verwood.

The party starts at 12pm with Fayrewood & Jon Bailey on stage, and the race is expected to pass behind the Hub on Home Farm Road at 2.45pm.

Stage seven of the Tour of Britain runs from West Bay, passing through Dorchester, West Lulworth and Corfe Castle. The route heads inland towards Wareham, Milton Abbas and Wimborne Minster and loops round via Verwood into the heart of Ferndown town centre.

In Verwood, the Race enters from the North, via Station Road past the Albion Inn. It will take a right at Home Farm Road, join Manor Road, across the Morrisons roundabout, past the Scout Hut, Newtown Road and Potterne Way before exiting along Verwood Road towards Three Legged Cross, West Moors then across the A31 to Ferndown.

A support car will drive through 15 minutes before the race with information and road closures will be in place before and during the race along the route.

The race itself begins at 11am in West Bay and will finish around 3pm in Ferndown.

If you can’t get to the roadside, the whole race will be live on ITV4.

“To have such a prestigious event come to our beautiful county is a huge honour that will support our local economy and provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase what we have to offer to an international audience.

“I know Dorset residents will join me in providing a warm welcome to the AJ Bell Tour of Britain and its followers when they arrive. I would like to wish everyone taking part the best of luck and look forward to watching these athletes compete.”
