Verwood Pharmacy owner buys Lloyds Pharmacy in Verwood

Verwood Pharmacy owner Pharmland Ltd has acquired Lloyds Pharmacy on Station Road in Verwood.

The business will be operating as normal after the Bank Holiday weekend at Station Road and all existing Lloyds’ patients and records will seamlessly transition across.

In a statement today, Pharmland Ltd told VerwoodToday.co.uk: “Negotiations have been underway for some time, and we would have liked to share this news earlier, but the contract was only finalised on Friday, 26th May, leaving little time for a grand announcement!

“Still, whilst it’s been all systems go for the last few weeks to get to this point, we’re glad to have got this over the line and helped to secure an important service in Verwood, at a time when many Pharmacies are exiting the sector.”

Pharmland Ltd will continue to operate from its Pharmacy in Lake Road in addition to Station Road, and negotiations are continuing to open a service at the former Lloyds Bank building too.

Pharmland added: “Please be patient with both of our teams across our two sites as we adapt to this transition. Our lovely (and shiny new) Station Road team will have to adapt to a range of new systems and challenges at short notice.

“Meanwhile, our wonderful Lake Road staff will be doing all they can to assist, including providing cross-site training, as two previously separate groups combine into a united team that can offer a stronger, more consistent service to the community.

“There are bound to be some learning steps as we go, but we firmly believe that given time we can build a brighter future for Pharmacy and related healthcare services in Verwood.”

It was reported earlier this year that Lloyds Pharmacy was selling a significant number of stores across the country.
