Officers are issuing a renewed appeal for information about a missing Bournemouth man after his van was found near Moors Valley.

David Cooper, aged 39, was reported missing having last been seen at around 6.05am on Wednesday 26 July 2023.

His white Ford Transit van, with the registration WJ63 VXL, was subsequently located near Moors Valley at Horton Road in Ashley Heath on the afternoon of Thursday 27 July 2023.

A major Police operation took place to try and locate him on Thursday evening with multiple emergency crews involved.

David is described as five feet six inches tall and of medium build with short brown hair and brown stubble. He was last seen wearing a blue polo top and white work trousers with black pockets on the back.

Inspector Joe Wheable, of Dorset Police, said: “We remain extremely concerned for David’s welfare and we are continuing to do everything we can to locate him.

“Our search efforts have been supported by volunteers from Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR) as well as Dorset Search Dogs and I would like to thank all those who have assisted.

“As part of our ongoing enquiries, we are keen to establish the movements of David’s vehicle prior to it being located at Moors Valley so we can build a full picture of events and I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who has captured relevant dashcam footage. I would urge anyone who was travelling along Horton Road in Ashley Heath, between the junction with Lions Hill Way and the junction with the A31 Ringwood Road, from 6.15am to 1pm on Wednesday 26 July 2023 to please check their footage.

“I would again urge anyone with any further information relating to David’s whereabouts to please contact Dorset Police immediately.

“I would also like to make a further plea to David if you see this appeal to please contact us or your loved ones and let us know where you are. We just want to make sure that you are all right.”
