Three young people wanted after assault on man in his 50s in West Moors

A man in his 50s has sustained bruising to his eye and swelling to his head in West Moors after being asked for some money.

It is reported that three young people on bikes asked the victim for some money, and was subsequently assaulted by one of the three male cyclists when saying he didn’t have any.

The incident occurred at around 2pm on Wednesday 22 November 2023 in an alleyway off Arnold Close leading to Station Road and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information.

Police Sergeant Bill Nightingall, of East Dorset police, said: “This was an unprovoked assault and we are doing all we can to support the victim.

“I am conducting enquiries into what happened and would ask anyone with information about those responsible to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen three young people on bikes acting suspiciously in the area to please get in touch.”
