Here’s what’s happening at the Verwood Rustic Fayre 2019

The annual Rustic Fayre is taking place at Potterne Park on August 26th this year, and here’s what’s new compared with last year.

The car boot sale is back for 2019, along with the classic vehicle show.

Circus Whiz returns inviting you to try your hand at various traditional skills; juggling, stilt-walking, ribbons, & plate-spinning, and Punch will be there with Judy for the kids.

The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has programmed the Rustic in for a Fly-Past again this year. As it’s the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings, a DC3 Douglas Dakota will be paying a visit with its D-Day livery, weather permitting.

The usual stalls and attractions, including the arena, the Rotary Arms and craft marquee will be in place, and events such as the duck race, pet show, egg catching, terrier racing and more will be featured.

The main arena will also see attractions such as dog & duck herding plus a display of mini-horses.

Lots of food and drink stalls will be around the event, selling coffee, cakes, sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, ice creams and even PIMMS. The Rotary BBQ will also be back.

And of course our local radio station, Forest FM, will be broadcasting live throughout the afternoon.

The event has had its fair share of wet days over years, but so far the long-range forecast is for sunny spells so fingers crossed it doesn’t change.

Finally, if you use Potterne Fields on a daily basis, as ever, you won’t be able to access the area on August 26th without paying. Gates open at 12pm till 5pm.
