Wimborne Town FC has withdrawn a planning application for two portacabins, stacked on top of each other, at its New Cuthbury ground in Ainsley Road.

The Southern League Division One South club had wanted the portacabins to be on site for two years as “an educational facility.”

It has offered no explanation for withdrawing the application from the Dorset Council planning register with the proposal not attracting any objections.

Wimborne Town Council had not objected to the plans but had added a comment in its response for the club to be mindful not to overlook surrounding homes.

A request for further information from the club is awaiting a reply.
