New homes details for former Church Road GP surgery site agreed

The details of six homes for the former Church Road GP surgery site at Three Legged Cross have been agreed.

An “in principle” decision to demolish the surgery, dispensary and a flat, and to build homes on the site was approved in October 2021.

Dorset Council has now given a detailed planning consent for the six homes, in three pairs of staggered semi-detached homes, on behalf of Ashdrew Ltd, based in Bournemouth.

The scheme comes with a landscaping plan which council officers says will be an improvement on the current surgery planting, although a neighbour has complained that it is wrong to disturb wildlife just to make the changes. Two trees adjacent to the rear boundary will be removed as part of the plan.

Only one objection had been submitted to the changes, claiming that neighbouring homes would be overlooked, although planning officers say there will be a minimum separation of 21 metres between the new homes and properties in Albany Drive.
