One of Verwood’s public houses has closed due to increased energy costs and a downturn in recent trade.
The Albion Pub on Station Road announced the news on Thursday evening via a post on Facebook.
General Manager Paul Williams said: “Well after 3 years it’s time to say goodbye and close the doors.
“I’d like to thank all our customers and staff over the past 3 years, we certainly all have a memory to tell, but sadly we had to make the heart breaking decision with increased energy costs and a downturn in trade to close.
“Once again Thank you to you all.”
The Albion received planning permission just before the pandemic to extend its dining area and provide a better dining experience, but the work never started.
