Passenger who exited a moving car near Three Legged Cross has died

A man who left a moving vehicle on Holt Road in Mannington has died from his injuries.

The incident occurred at around 4.40pm on Tuesday 8 August 2023 involving a black Mazda 3 hatchback on Holt Road in Mannington.

The passenger – a man aged in his 30s – was taken by air ambulance to hospital but died as a result of his injuries on Friday 11 August 2023.

A 45-year-old man from Verwood was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence and inflicting grievous bodily harm.

The arrested man has since been released without charge in relation to the offence of inflicting grievous bodily harm. He remains under investigation in relation to the driving offence.

Inspector Craig Tatton, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.

“After our initial investigation, we do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the male passenger exiting the vehicle and our enquiries are continuing into the driving offence.”
