
Special services and road closures are taking place this weekend in Verwood to commemorate Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.
On Saturday 11th November, a gathering will take place at 11am at the Ferrett Green War Memorial in the town centre. A wreath will then be laid at the memorial in St. Michael’s Church Yard.
On Sunday 12th November, a Church Service will take place at St Michael’s from 9.45am followed by a march to the War Memorial in Verwood Town Centre.
On both days, a two-minute silence will take place to remember the war heroes.
Road closures will take place on Sunday 12th November;
- From 10.30am till 10.45am on Dewlands Way between Church Hill and Home Farm Road
- From 10.45am till 10.55am on Home Farm Road between Dewlands Way and St Michaels Roundabout and on Manor Road between St Michaels Roundabout and Ringwood Road
- From 10.55am till 11.15am on Ringwood Road between Manor Road and Vicarage Road
