The Texaco garage and shop were closed on Monday following an attempted break in.

Workers at the filling station said they had unwanted visitors overnight who ripped off the lock on the shutters, leaving them unable to open and get in to the shop.

The situation was sorted on Monday afternoon and it is now trading again.

A post on social media said: “Unfortunately we are not going to be open anytime soon. It seems we have had some unwanted guests throughout the night and they have kindly ripped off our lock for our shutters which means we have no access to the store.

“Sorry for any inconvenience.”

“Our maintenance is on the way so will update once we are back in.”

Dorset Police are investigating.
