More face to face appointments will be available in Verwood as Lake Road Surgery prepares to expand into a new medical hub.
The Cranborne Practice has confirmed that work will begin on 12 March to fully refurbish the bungalow at 131 Newtown Road, next to the existing surgery. The building will be transformed into a dedicated clinical space for the practice’s 13,850 patients.
Plans include three new consulting rooms, a separate waiting area and upgraded facilities. The expansion is expected to create capacity for more than 28,000 additional face to face appointments each year.
The practice currently delivers around 10,500 appointments a month and says the project will help it continue providing in person care locally. It also opens up the possibility of extended services being delivered from Verwood in future.
Construction is due to finish by mid summer 2026, with further updates promised as work progresses.
