Verwood Council invites ideas for its 40th

Residents and businesses are being asked to help shape celebrations marking four decades of Verwood as a town.

Verwood Town Council has launched a public survey ahead of the 40th anniversary in 2027, inviting suggestions on how the milestone should be recognised. People can respond as individuals or on behalf of local organisations.

The questionnaire asks whether respondents would like to see the anniversary celebrated and whether they are aware of the Heathland Heritage Centre on Ferrett Green and Verwood’s historic links to pottery.

It also invites ideas on how the heritage of Verwood and Three Legged Cross could be highlighted.

Local companies and community groups are also being asked if they would like to take part in events during 2027.

The council says it wants the anniversary to reflect the community’s history and identity. More details are available on the Council’s website.
