Historic characters will line up in scarecrow form as Verwood and District Horticultural Society brings back its community competition.
The event will take place during the society’s Spring Show on 21 March, following what organisers described as a strong response to last year’s launch.
Schools, businesses, community groups, families and individuals are all being invited to take part.
This year’s theme is A Character from History, with entrants encouraged to recreate a well-known figure in scarecrow form. Prizes will be decided by public vote on the day, with a People’s Choice award funded by Verwood Town Council.
Organisers said visitors last year enjoyed the “creativity, humour and imagination” on display and they are hoping for a wide range of entries again.
The Spring Show will be held in Verwood, with scarecrows displayed as part of the event.
