Five decades after starting his legal career, a Verwood-based solicitor is celebrating 50 years with Harold G Walker Solicitors.
Simon Nethercott, now Senior Partner and Head of Business and Commercial, is based at the firm’s Verwood office.
He joined the Dorset practice as a trainee in February 1976, qualified in 1980 and became a partner in 1984, specialising in commercial property.
He chose the firm after discovering its founder was then chairman of AFC Bournemouth. In the early 1990s, he succeeded him as honorary solicitor to both the Bournemouth Football Association and the Hampshire Football Association, a role he still carries out.
Simon said the “greatest satisfaction” has come from long-term relationships, adding he is now acting for the grandchildren of clients he first represented 40 years ago.
Fellow partner Nicola Lowe called the milestone “a truly remarkable chapter” for the firm, praising his “integrity” and commitment.
