Rotary club hosts charity race night

A charity race night is set to take place in Verwood, raising funds for local causes and emergency services.

Verwood Rotary Club will host an evening at the races at Verwood Memorial Hall on Saturday 9 May, with the first race starting at 7.30pm.

Proceeds from the event will support Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance as well as Rotary projects.

Attendees are invited to bring their own picnic, while a licensed bar will be available on site. Organisers have confirmed that only drinks purchased at the venue can be consumed on the premises. There will also be tote betting during the evening, with guests advised to bring cash.

The event will include a prize for the best dressed lady, adding an extra element to the night.

A spokesperson said the event aims to bring the community together while supporting important local services.
