Residents will not need to change how they sort their waste as new national recycling rules come into force next week.
Dorset Council says its Recycle for Dorset service already meets the government’s Simpler Recycling requirements, meaning collections will continue as they are.
While some areas across England are introducing new systems, the council confirmed there are no changes to what can or cannot go in kerbside bins locally.
The authority acknowledged recent media coverage suggesting widespread changes, but stressed Dorset households can continue using existing arrangements.
A spokesperson said the current system has “followed these rules for many years now”, meaning residents should not notice any difference when the legislation takes effect.
