National Grid to close Verwood Bridleways

National Grid to close Verwood Bridleways

Three sections of public bridleway to the south of Verwood will close for up to 26 weeks while National Grid carries out work on power lines.

Bridleway E54/22, E54/23 and E54/42 will be closed to pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders from Wednesday the 1st of July.

The closure covers around 675 metres of the route, between grid references SU 08884 07419 and SU 08592 06879 – see the map below to see the area on a map.

It’s part of the work currently taking place around the Potterne Park area.

Dorset Council said the restriction is needed to provide safe working areas and reduce risks to people using the route.

The order can remain in place for 26 weeks, although the work is expected to be completed by Sunday the 27th of September.

A signed alternative route will be available.

More details about the work are available from National Grid on 0800 099 6087. Rights of Way enquiries can be made to Dorset Countryside on 01305 224630.
