Orchard Day Nursery is mourning the loss of its chef, Jo Linter, who has died after a brief illness.
Jo had worked at the nursery for almost 20 years and was described by colleagues as an important part of the Orchard family. She died last week surrounded by her loved ones.
The nursery said her loss is being felt by staff, children and families who have known her over the years.
In a tribute, Orchard Day Nursery said Jo was remembered not only for her work but also for the kindness and warmth she brought to those around her.
The nursery said she was “not just a colleague but a friend to many”, adding that her “warm smile, infectious laughter, compassionate nature and fantastic sense of humour” helped make the nursery a welcoming place every day.
Staff also recognised the close bond Jo shared with her family, saying she often spoke about how much she loved them and how proud she was of their achievements.
The nursery said Jo’s memory would remain with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her and sent its condolences to her family.
