Proposals revealed for Manor Road development

Detailed proposals have been revealed for a housing development on Manor Road in Verwood, including affordable homes, green spaces and new walking and cycling routes.

Elivia Homes has published its plans for the site on the southern edge of town and is inviting residents to provide feedback before a formal planning application is submitted.

The development would include up to 100 properties, with 50% designated as affordable housing through affordable rent and shared ownership schemes.

The proposed layout includes publicly accessible green space, a children’s play area, walking routes, sustainable drainage and additional planting.

Existing trees and hedgerows would be retained wherever possible, while vehicle access would be provided from Manor Road.

New pedestrian and cycle connections would link the development to St Michael’s Road and surrounding routes.

The developer has also outlined plans for contributions towards local schools, healthcare and community facilities.

It’s part of the bigger plan to build 1300 new homes in Verwood over the next 20 years.

Residents can now examine the proposed layout, view artists’ impressions and submit their comments through the developer’s consultation portal.
