Christmas lights switch on events in and around Verwood

The annual Verwood Christmas Extravaganza is planned for Saturday 7th December 2019 from 5pm till 8pm.

Once again, Father Christmas will be arriving on Ferrett Green around 5pm to greet the locals and give presents to the children.

After this, the Mayor and Santa will turn on the Christmas Lights in Verwood Town Centre.

The Verwood Brass Band will be playing seasonal music, small fairground rides will be available for the kids and food and drink will be served including hot coffee and mulled wine.

Volunteers from Verwood Rotary, Flameburst, Verwood Carnival Committee, Verwood Concert Brass, Verwood Scouts ad the Heathland and Heritage Trust all work together to put on this annual event.

RINGWOOD

Ringwood’s Christmas Lights will be switched on Sunday 1st December at 6pm. Santa will be in his Grotto, and there will be street entertainment and fairground rides around Market Place and the High Street.

There’s live music on stage, Christmas Markets with local crafts and gifts, plus food and drink.

The official switch-on will take place at 6pm. after a day of festivities in the Town Centre starting at 12pm which will include two parades with Santa arriving in his grotto and then arriving again to turn on the lights, street and stage entertainment, children’s fairground rides and a Christmas Market.

There will be free parking in the Town’s car parks.

The event is organised by Ringwood Events Team acting on behalf of Ringwood Town Council.

FERNDOWN

The Ferndown Christmas Lights will be switched on Saturday November 30th at 5pm under the clock tower.

From 1pm in Penny’s Walk Ferndown there will be market stalls, music, bands, Santa, a raffle, nativity scene, games, rides and more.

FORDINGBRIDGE

Christmas in Fordingbridge takes place on Saturday 30th November from 4pm till 8pm.

The main activity takes place around Avonway and outside the Town Hall, plus High Street, Provost Street, Roman Yard, Salisbury Street and Roundhill.

There will be live music, food, drink, crafts, a fire pit, steam organ, circus skills and fire eating displays, climbing walls, teacup rides, soccer shoot out, country market, horses on display, face painting, tombola and more.

Harry Redknapp will be pressing the big button at 7.20pm to light up Fordingbridge.

CHRISTCHURCH

In Christchurch, the Christmas Festival is taking place on Saturday 23rd November from 10am till 8pm with lots of street food, an Alpine Bar, Kids’ Zone, Amusements, Gifts, Treasures and more.

Reindeer will be in Saxon Square from 3pm-7pm, plus live dance and music all day.

Santa’s Parade starts at 5pm from The Priory with the lights switch-on at 6pm, with Fred Dinenage and The Mayor.

Santa will be in his Grotto too for the kids.
