Verwood Rustic Fayre 2022 has raised just over £12,000

This year’s Rustic Fayre has raised just over £12,000 for good causes in and around Verwood.

Organisers of the event, the Verwood Rotary Club, said they now have the enjoyable task of dividing the money up to support local charities, organisations and community events.

In a post on Facebook, they added: “In fact, if you have a local club or charity you would like to nominate for a possible donation, please contact us via email at secretary@verwoodrotary.org.uk.”

Rotary Club member Louisa Hiscock told the SalisburyJournal: “Looking back on this event it was great to see all the planning come together for a fantastic afternoon out for all the family.”

Verwood Carnival Queen and Princesses opened the event with club president Clive Grove.

In the arena there were demonstrations with birds of prey, morris dancers and Tae Kwon-do. Followed by terrier racing, mini horses and dog agility.

There were stalls aplenty to browse, musical entertainment, a choice of food and drink venues, a classic vehicle display, a pet show and children’s entertainers.

A highlight for many visitors on the day was the Avro Lancaster flypast mid-afternoon followed by the duck race.

There was even a guest appearance by a dalek.

The club has said a “big thank you” to all the sponsors and volunteers “whose support made it all possible.”

The Verwood Rustic Fayre took place at Potterne Park on Bank Holiday Monday August 29th 2022 and you can see the programme of events from the day here.
