Here’s what happening at the Royal Picnic in the Park in Verwood today

The Royal Picnic in the Park is taking place at the Recreation Ground with a very special guest making an appearance all day – the sun!

Sunshine is forecast all day along with a high temperature of 19 degrees – a welcome change from yesterday’s downpours.

The event, made possible by Verwood Town Council, officially starts at midday with a full line-up of entertainment for the live music stage:

Grey Day 12pm till 12.45pm
Fayrewood 1pm till 1.50pm
Vocalize 2pm till 2.45pm
Charlotte Geary 2.55pm till 3.40pm
Rough Cuts 3.50pm till 4.35pm
The TFI Friday Tribute Band 4.45pm till 5.20pm
Verwood Brass Band 5.30pm till 6pm

In addition to live music, there’s lots of stalls, including:

Gift shack, Mr Pops Balloons Pop Art, Card Stall, Moon Crystals, Verwoodians on Waste & scrap store, Ancient Tech Centre, Crown Making with the Youth Club, posy making with the Flower Club, Climbing Wall, Fire Engine Crystal jewellery, Whimsical Tails, Crochet Toys, face painter, slate gifts. Just friends, Parachute games, Market in the Memorial Hall and the Avon Organics & Horticultural Society.

It’s free to take part and there will be plenty of stalls serving food and drinks such as fish & chips, chicken & fries, hot dogs, Mexican food, sweets, churros, fudge, popcorn, brownies, ice cream, barista coffee, beer, Pimms and prosecco.
