Free open-air cinema event planned for Verwood

An open-air cinema is planned for Verwood with two films showing on Saturday 24th July 2021.

Trolls World Tour will start at 2.30pm followed by The Greatest Showman at 7.30pm

Both will be displayed on a giant screen on the Verwood Recreation Ground, opposite Tesco.

The event is free but donations are suggested to help raise money for the Library/Computer departments at the local schools and the local branch of the National Association for Colitis and Chron’s Disease.

Verwood Town Council, organising the event, suggest bringing your own blanket, chairs and snacks.

At the time of publication, the weather forecast is for a dry day with sunny spells and a high of 24c.

    Its a pity so many people complained when the verges were not cut. Have they not heard how endangered bees are? If bees die out [and there is a world wide reduction in bee levels] how do we pollinate our flowers also flowers and veg in allotments some people are even cutting the grass outside their bungalows!
