A man has been charged and is due to appear in court in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in East Dorset.
At around 9.30pm on the 16th September 2023, Dorset Police received a report of a collision in Hurn Road, between Ringwood and Matchams, when a blue BMW 1 series left the carriageway and sustained extensive damage.
A passenger in the vehicle – named by her family as 18-year-old Laionie Kennard from Verwood – sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man aged in his 20s from Wiltshire was arrested in connection with the incident and, following enquiries by the Roads Policing Unit, has been charged with causing death by careless/inconsiderate driving.
He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on the 20th of December.
