An evening with Olympic ski jumper Eddie Edwards will take place at Verwood Hub on Friday 10 July 2026.
Edwards, widely known as Eddie The Eagle, will speak about his journey from working as a plasterer to competing in the Winter Olympics as a ski jumper. The event will begin at 7.30pm and will include an opportunity for the audience to put their questions to him.
He became a household name during the 1988 Winter Olympics, where he represented Great Britain in ski jumping. Despite finishing last in both of his events, his determination and personality attracted widespread public support.
The appearance at Verwood Hub will focus on his personal experiences, reflecting on the challenges he faced and the path that led him to international competition.
Eddie regularly appears in east Dorset at Snowtrax, including at the annual South Coast Ski Show.
