Planning permission has been granted for a new Greggs outlet at the Morrisons petrol station in Verwood, despite concerns raised by some residents.
A small number of objections were submitted during the consultation period. These focused mainly on traffic, with concerns that the forecourt is already busy and that additional customers could block access to the supermarket entrance.
Others questioned the need for another bakery, pointing out that there is already a bakery in the town centre as well as facilities inside Morrisons.
Planning officers considered the issues before approving the application. The decision means Greggs will be able to open a unit at the petrol station site, adding to the food and drink offer at the location.
No start date for construction has been confirmed, but Verwood Today has contacted them for more details.
