New barber launches with community hub

Haircuts, skincare and a place to talk will soon be under one roof as Boonys opens its first shop at Ebblake in Verwood.

The business is owned by Connor Cutler, who will launch the venture on the town’s industrial estate alongside his partner, who is running a skincare service from the same premises.

It marks his first shop after years of hands-on work and a background growing up on a smallholding in Holt.

Connor, who has since moved to Verwood with his family, said he wanted to raise standards locally while creating more than a traditional barbershop.

“Boonys is more than just a barbershop. It’s a support network for men and women to feel good and have a chat if they’re feeling low,” he said.

The premises includes space for customers to play pool and darts, offering what he describes as a safe place to spend time rather than gathering elsewhere in town.

He added that the industrial estate’s mix of martial arts clubs, takeaways and other businesses made it a strong location, helped by free parking and a steady flow of workers.

Residents are being encouraged to follow the shop’s social media pages for further updates before opening day.

Boony’s Barbers will open on 6 March at 12A Eblake Industrial Estate.
