Free Verwood outdoor family group restarts

Families in Verwood are once again meeting outdoors as a free nature group returns, bringing parents and children together to explore local green spaces.

Dorset Wild Tribe has restarted its regular meet ups, giving families the chance to spend time outside while connecting with others in the community. The relaxed gatherings welcome children of all ages, from babies and toddlers to school age and home educated youngsters.

Sessions are organised by local tutor Jess Habgood, who runs Habgood Education in Verwood. The group regularly visits nearby locations including Stephen’s Castle, Moors Valley and Knowlton Church.

Jess said the idea is to give families a simple way to enjoy nature together. She said it helps children explore the outdoors and build confidence while parents meet others locally.

The next Dorset Wild Tribe meet up will take place on Wednesday 11 at 12:15pm, starting at Verwood Memorial Hall before walking to Stephen’s Castle for an outdoor picnic.

A special Easter gathering for school age children is also being planned during the holidays. New families are welcome to attend, and you can see more details on the Facebook page.
