Power cut affects thousands in Verwood

Hundreds of homes in Verwood have been left without electricity after a power outage was reported affecting a large part of the town.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks confirmed an alert was issued at 4.10pm on 31 March, with the disruption centred on the Verwood West area. Around 3,910 customers are currently impacted.

The cause of the outage has not yet been identified, and there is no confirmed time for power to be restored. The incident is ongoing, with engineers expected to be investigating the issue.

Residents in affected areas may be experiencing loss of lighting, heating and other essential services while the fault remains unresolved.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks has not yet provided further details but says updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
