More than £500 has been raised for the East Dorset and New Forest Motor Neurone Disease Association following a concert by Verwood Choral Society.
Verwood Mayor, Councillor Simon Gibson, attended the event and said afterwards that he had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
The money will support the local branch of the MND Association, which is run by volunteers and helps people and families living in the BH postcode area who have been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
The concert programme was arranged by director Ann Mayo and included music from Evita, West Side Story, Simon and Garfunkel and other well known works.
The audience also joined in with some familiar songs during the evening.
Verwood Choral Society is now inviting new members to get involved. The choir is open to adults of all ages, with no auditions needed.
Anyone interested in joining can contact musical director Ann Mayo at annsmayo@yhaoo.co.uk.
Rehearsals for the Christmas concert begin in September.
