Verwood Road traffic lights return August

Temporary traffic lights will return to Verwood Road at Three Legged Cross from Monday 3 August as SGN resumes essential gas main replacement work.

The project is due to continue in phases until Sunday 8 November, with specialist contractor I and G Contractors Limited replacing remaining metal pipes with plastic ones.

The first phase will run until 7 September, covering Ringwood Road to Furzelands Road. Multiway lights will operate at the Ringwood Road and Verwood Road roundabout, followed by two way lights as work progresses.

The second phase will continue from Church Road to Crab Orchard Way until 8 November. Traffic lights will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm to help maintain traffic flow.

Homes requiring connection to the new main will receive advance notice before supplies are temporarily isolated.

SGN said it would complete the work as safely and as quickly as possible, adding: “We are sorry for the inconvenience these essential works will cause, thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.”

An information event will be held at Verwood Road Evangelical Chapel on Wednesday 22 July from 3pm to 7pm.
