Parking bays and directional signs at Potters Wheel car park will be repainted during the evening and night of Tuesday 14 July.
Verwood Town Council said the work has been scheduled outside normal shopping hours to reduce disruption to nearby businesses and visitors. The project will include renewed no entry markings, while some parking bays will be made wider.
Drivers are being asked not to leave vehicles in the car park overnight while the lining work takes place.
Anyone who needs to park there should contact the town council in advance. The lining company can then advise when the vehicle must be moved and where it can be parked as different areas are completed.

The council said residents whose homes back onto the site should experience little noise during the work.
