Temporary traffic lights on Black Moor Road in Verwood have been removed following complaints from residents about long delays and traffic congestion.
The lights had been installed as part of ongoing electricity network works in the area, but motorists reported lengthy queues and disruption to journeys.
Following feedback from local residents, councillors Simon Gibson and Toni Coombs became involved in efforts to resolve the situation.
The temporary lights were removed on Thursday evening and the pylon electricity works finished earlier than expected yesterday.
The restrictions were connected to National Grid works on Black Moor Road, with Dorset Council previously approving temporary traffic management arrangements between Ringwood Road and Taunus Way.
The works were scheduled to take place between 7 and 31 October, with additional parking restrictions affecting parts of Taunus Way.
Residents have welcomed the removal of the lights, with a message shared in a local Facebook community group thanking Councillor Simon Gibson and Councillor Toni Coombs for helping to resolve the problem.
Elsewhere, Alderholt Road will be closed on Monday, 19th October, from 8am till 4pm for roadworks, and work continues with temporary traffic lights on Manor Road towards Three Legged Cross till November 5th.
Temporary traffic lights are also scheduled on Horton Road at Ashley Heath for Tuesday 20th October from 9.30am till 4pm.
