Organisers of the Verwood Carnival have announced the 2021 event will not be taking place due to coronavirus restrictions.

The annual event was also cancelled last year because of the pandemic, but plans are now underway for a return on Friday 3rd June 2022 – a bank holiday for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

A message on the Carnival Facebook page says: “We are saddened to announce that there will not be a Carnival in 2021.

“Restrictions are thankfully starting to lift, but too close to our dates to be able to give you all the full Carnival experience…. but fear not! Verwood Carnival Jubilee week is in full planning for 2022!!!

“Stallholders, community groups, event organisers we encourage you all to get in touch and be a part of it!”

The event was planned for May 31st 2021.
