Man in his 60s knocked unconscious in Wimborne town centre

A man in his 60s was taken to hospital after being knocked unconscious in Wimborne.

The reported incident happened shortly after 1am on Sunday 3 September 2023 in Crown Mead near to Wimborne Library.

Police are on the lookout for the suspect who is described as white, aged in his late 20s, between six feet two and six feet four inches tall with a beard.

Police Constable Caroline Orchard, of Dorset Police, said: “Thankfully, the victim did not sustain any serious injuries in this unprovoked assault.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“In particular, I am keen to speak to a blonde woman who was in the vicinity and may have important information to help my enquiries.”
